Go on. Stand Out!

I love this image. Partly because the balloon is yellow. My signature colour!
Partly because of the symbolism of being different, unique, obvious.
It's a challenge, an adventure, a scary trembling-on-edges way of being.
And, when we are ourselves, it's going to happen anyway. You'll stand out.

I work with clients & I have colleagues & friends who often struggle with the challenge of 'putting their head above the parapet' in organisations, with edicts, policies, & in relationships. Whether to say what needs to be said, to stand up for someone who is unable to stand up for themselves, to speak for those without a voice, to put their convictions against something perceived as unfair or unjust or just un- thought through. To speak for ourselves, our own truths often without the expectation or hope of being heard, but because it's important to hear ourselves be true.

That can be a heart in the mouth moment of vulnerability & transparency. What you care about is out there for all to see.  You are exposed.
And, when you're standing out....with your head above the parapet, that's sometimes the only way you can see clearly for any distance.
"Go as far as you can see. When you get there, you'll see further"

James Lawley is fond of saying; "If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much room"

Go on. Step up to that edge. Stand up. Tell your truth. Be who you are. Stand out. You're extraordinary & beautiful.

I love to notice, & to wonder & to journal on the things I wonder about: as the poet David Whyte says ~to "overhear myself saying things I didn't know I knew"
    What do you wonder?
